Third Quarter Submission

Image
I made a few changes to my cover page since my first submission. My group changed all of our fonts and we added a black line behind the main focus of the article. This created a staple look for our magazine and now there is more evidence that all of our issues are from the same magazine besides the title. I made a couple of changes to my two page article as well. Everyone in my group changed the fonts and added page numbers. I decided to keep the same pictures because I didn't get any that I liked better and I think all the pictures fit in nicely with the text.  I am very happy with how my 3rd quarter submission of my table of contents turned out. Everyone in my group changed the page color to black to make the pictures pop. I think this looks especially nice with mine because the dark bushes meeting the page created a faded effect. Again, we changed our fonts to all match and added page numbers!

Third Revision

Image
My third revision was regarding my table of contents. My whole group decided to make the page color black so that our pictures pop. We also made the fonts the same as our two page articles and cover page. Last, I tried to align my numbers better and I added page numbers.

Distribution Plan

Image
My distribution plan consists of digital and conventional methods. I definitely want my article in stores near the check out lines because more people walk by them and see them. I would also like to use a billboard because you cannot miss them when driving or walking because hey are so big and obvious. My digital distribution plan includes our Instagram account called 'Sota Sports. This is appropriate for our target audience because of audience mainly consists of teenagers and teenagers are always on their phones, checking their social media.

Distribution Research - Website

Image
Websites are a very common method of digital distribution because they are so easily accessed as well as quick. Sports Illustrated has a very popular website that is also easy to navigate. When you first click on the website it is divided into eight options of different sports to read about and a ninth subscribe button. It is clear when using and a good substitute for a physical magazine.

Distribution Research - E-books

Image
E-books are a good digital option for people who don't enjoy reading but enjoy the content. This is something you could listen to in the car or on the go. I think this option is something teenagers might not use but it could be a good option for their older family members. E-books are also instant compared to having go find the magazine you are looking for. You can even change the sizes of the fonts so it is easier to read! font

Second Revision

Image
My group and I got together today to give our magazine a more staple look. We changed our fonts on publisher with a font called "Hobo STD". It is a different font that is less generic and more interesting to look at. I also added the black line behind the players name because it contributes to our magazine's staple look. Soon we will make our table of contents and our two page articles more similar.

Distribution Research - Apps

Image
Apps are a fast and mobile way to access magazines. For example, ESPN has a popular app that many guys use to check scores of games and read the articles. This even wiped out the whole physical copy of the magazine. When ESPN joined Disney +, they switched to only digital distribution of their magazine. This would be a good option for my magazine because high school students are always on their phones compared to holding and reading physical magazines.

Distribution Research

A traditional distribution model for a magazine is being sold in stores, hopefully near the register. Being sold near the register is the best possible spot to be sold because people spend the most time near it unloading groceries or other products. Another good place to distribute magazines is outside the store. It catches the readers attention when they're walking by and it makes them want to end the store to purchase to magazine.

Marketing Plan

Image
To market my magazine I will use social media, more specifically Instagram. Since my magazine is for high school students, I feel like it will be the most obvious way to get the younger generations attention. Teenagers and young adults more commonly have their noses in their phones so it will bring attention to them about their school basketball team!
